Snow
I can't speak for everyone but I am ready for the snow to end. Out in Howard Lake we already had 4.5"-5" this morning. With it supposed to snow all day and night we could be looking at another 10". Lake travel in trucks was already tough and now another 10". Looks like it will be snowmobile travel for a while.

Here is something that I don't understand UNLESS it has to do with money. They are closing the schools out by us now. Why to they pick the kids up in the morning and then close schools and 10:00, 10:30, 12:00? What sense does it make to go to school for 2 hours?

I'm guessing that if they bring the kids to school and keep the for a couple hours they get paid, if they close them before bringing the kids in they don't.

I THINK that is correct. It wasn't snowing at all down here at 4-6am this morning so thats why they didn't cancel but yeah its been non stop from 6am to what we have now.

How long do the kids have to be there to count it as a day? Could they be running low on snow days?
I know some of the schools down here won't be out until the 2nd week of June.

Some southern/southwester districts may have used the days up already but most have not. They have to have 1/2 or more periods/hours in of the school day to count I THINK.
We ALREADY go through the second week of June and if we were to use more snow days (have only used one full) would go into the 3rd week.

Ya, somehow the firing up of the snow blower and heading off to do the driveway and sidewalks just isn't quite as much fun as it was before...spring can come anytime now.
Aren't teachers salaried?

Just got the driveway done and a sled ride. Probably 8"-9" but drifts around 20" across the driveway and the deck has atleast 12". I will tackle that after dinner. Yep I am ready for summer.

Never thought I'd say it but I'm ready for this chit to end too. The drifts in my back yard are chest deep near the cedar fence, half way up the patio doors in back and on the deck, and there are MOUNTAINS on the roof. I've been shoveling and shoveling all winter in hopes to get the boat out easily when I need to but I might need a damn crane! I want to get it in the garage soon to do a bunch more rigging and wiring. At least the wheeler and plow have been getting used.

I would say in Waverly I have close to a foot in my driveway, drifts MUCH deeper. The lakes are gonna be tough now. I drove by some this morning before lunch and the accesses were almost unaccessable. I hope my Durango is up for a challenge, I don't have a sled!

I took the sled out last night across Dutch Lake and Mallard Pass. The snow was deep on the lakes and it was coming over the sled and hitting me. My wife saw me coming across the lake and said she could hardly see the head light until I was almost in the back yard. It is deep out on those lakes.
