OMG I can't wait. I'm hating winter this year and not into ice fishing for 7" crappies and same size walleyes. I was telling my buddies I need to get my boat ready for Red Wing already.

I can't wait either! Over the past 2 weeks I've cleaned out and restocked my tackle boxes/bags, bought a new pole for pitching jigs and sent my reels off to be cleaned/repaired. Once I get the reels back and restrung, I'll be all ready for opener.

128 days and the I'll have my 1st stringer of bass. Some butter, salt and pepper in a hot pan over an open fire. Doesn't get no better than that.

This is the first year I've "sent" my reels off to be cleaned/repaired and I took them to Wayzata Bait & Tackle. I'll let you know how they work on Bass Opener.

They charge $20 a reel for baitcasters. I have bought a couple used reels there before when I lived closer.

I know that All Season's Sports in Delano also does reel cleaning and maintenence. Might be cheaper than Wayzata.

I need to get a couple of reels repaired too. I have a pair of Quantum Kinetic spinning reels that had the anti-reverse go out (2nd time it happened to one of them). I cant decide if its worth paying to have them repaired, or just chuck them in the trash and buy some Shimanos... I suppose I could try to fix them myself before chucking them.

Only 54 days till I head to Guntersville to get a head start on some 2010 bass-jackin!!
