Big Turtle/Movil Lakes

Taking the family up north of Bemidji to Turtle Lake (Kohl's resort) July 11-18. Wondering if anyone had any tips for these lakes?
Thanks for any help

If I were you and you like to fish bass I would try to go through the culvert on Big Turtle and fish Little Turtle. There is a reed bed to the right as you get threw that hold bass as well as a nice mid lake reed bed. I never did stop to fish big turtle but have heard good things about the walleyes in there. Been 10 years since I been up there but if it is still a big culvert between the two you can get a smaller boat threw it no problem.

Thanks!

Keith,
Thanks for the tip!
I will be going for bass as my son (6) has been bragging that he only wants to fish for walleye as he's already caught a 19 1/2" bass this year and I haven't!!! Nice to hook em young!
Thanks again,
Brian

Thanks Again!

Tubes,
Not a great week to take the family to the Northwoods - 53 and rainy 4 out of the 6 days (pulled out on Friday to have a full weekend at home).
Fishing started great - 24 in eye 10 min into fishing the first night. Fell off from there. Had a hard time getting anymore eyes, nothing over 18 for LM, no SM, teethy critters would hit at night later in the week, and other than one nice bluegill outing - which the kids loved - the panfish shut down as well.
Mayfly hatch was going on and the wind rain made boat control horrendous at best.
Still, got to spend 6 uninterrupted days with the family - and the resort owners (Kohl's Resort) were outstanding - the indoor pool helped as well!
Thanks again for the tip!
Brian
