Neck Collared Geese
I was driving around this weekend and spotted some geese that had neck collars so I took it as a great photo op!

How many neck collared geese can you find in the pic below?

I count five for sure. The second one from the left in the upper corner might be a sixth.
I got a shotgun, a rifle, and a four wheel drive and a Country Boy Can Survive.

I have seen geese with collars like that before in the city. I am not sure why they just don't stick with the leg bands. They have to be uncomfortable for the geese.

I agree with you Mike. It looks like they are on pretty tight. I am living in Colorado and thats where I took these pics and there are a ton of geese with neck collars out here.

You can also go to Monticello in the wintertime and get neck banded Trumpeter Swans. What if they swallowed something really large?

I wish I could get that close to some banded geese for dinner. We shot 5 banded geese out of our ball field 2 years ago and haven't shot another banded one yet.

looks like the goose at the top of the page has a blood stain in his white patch. Is that from haywood and his red rider bb gun.

I wish I could say I have shot a banded goose... I have only caught them on camera. They are a lot harder to come by in South Dakota where I do most of my waterfowl hunting. But i'll tell you out here in Colorado there are banded and neck collared geese everywhere.
