muskies
Made it out to a NE metro lake for the Metro Muskie tourny yesterday and had a great day with with my dad. About 8 the first one hit in 18fow trolling a brown Madusa 47.5! Around noon casting a white spinner over 5 fow had a miss and than 3 figure eights she followed but missed everytime. We where planning on leaving around 2 to make sure to get the check in and at 1:50 the 43 hit a brown swim bait trolling in 14fow! Made it on time to the check in and got 2nd for the tourny!!
One of the Prizes was a paid trip to Eagle lake in Ontario, i will wait until next year to use it but any insight on the lake would be great. Times of year to areas

Nice job on the tourney! In regard to your question, things usually heat up around the July moon phase for those northern lakes and water temps are getting right about that time.
NE metro lake...Looks like Forest lake through the pics. Nice work and congrats!Pro Staff - Dream Catcher Lures www.dreamcatcherlures.com

Late September early October could give you a great opprotunity for a giant! Just might not be as fast and furious as the july feedbag bite. Also depends on when they close the doors on the lodge for the season. I would just slow down my presentation as the waters cool in the fall... and really work over the good production areas thoroughly.
In regard to the pics...I've spent a lot of time on many lakes over the years and the only reason I said something is due to the fact that the results will be published on the MMT site and hard copy in the near future.
I would have been out there with ya but we were suppose to fish the Minocqua ProMAC which ended up being cancelled last minute and forgot about the MMT

Congrats again and great job! That 47.5 is a true pig and you had a great day on the water!Pro Staff - Dream Catcher Lures www.dreamcatcherlures.com

Bowfishermen, check out this link about a carp tournament on Prior, Spring, and Fish Lakes in Scott County on Sunday June 2nd. I like the part about them disposing of the fish for us. That's the...
