Puddle Jumping for Gills
Jason and I spent a few days last week working some small lakes off some old logging roads. Found lots of blue gills and bass. The biggest gills seemed to be hanging on the secondary breaks in 8-10 fow and close to the bottom. Working 1/16 oz jigs and plastics slow and near the bottom caught most of our better fish. We also chucked some frogs in the lily pads but never landed a fish. Plenty of strikes but the cover was just to thick for the gear we had with.
Didn't take many pics but here's a few I did take. gill3.jpggill.jpggill2.jpggill1.jpggill4.jpg

Nice photo's Hogs, sure would be nice to put some gills in the pan right now.
Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh heh - and, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour.
Da-uh? Space out?
Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work

Thanks guys! It was a good time and should do more of this.. Those small lakes are so peaceful especially on a calm afternoon.

Fishing continues to be excellent! All parts of the lake ice free as of earlier this week. Trophy walleyes still being produced from both the Rainy River and the lake. 5-12 feet over sand and rubble...
Fishing on Lake of the Woods- LOW...
