7/13/11 Lake Pulaski Report
Wind: 5-15mph
Surface Temp: 75-78 degrees
Water Clarity: 1-3'
Presentations: 3" Gulp Minnow on 1/4oz jig, DT10,DT14,DT16, #7 Glass Shad Rap, 4" Storm Swimshad, 3" RippleShad on 3/8oz jig, SkitterPop, and Scumfrog.
Fishing Report: Got out on the lake around 6am and stayed out till 2. The first spot I fished was a nice gravel point off the weedline. I managed to pick up 15 Walleyes off the spot. The largest went 18" while the rest were 13-15". Around 8 the bite stopped so I went up to Little Pulaski and fished the Reeds. I ended up catching quite a few Bass but no real size to them. I decided to go out deeper hoping to get into some larger fish. But I only managed to hook into a few Pike and some Rock Bass. I stopped fishing around noon and spent the rest of the day scouting the lake."We've been going about this all wrong. This Mr. Stay Puft's okay! He's a sailor, he's in New York; we get this guy laid, we won't have any trouble!"

I kind of gave up on Pulaski. It seems hard to fish. It seems you have to fish deep and I think it lacks structure. The owner of Pike's Bait and Tackle tells me he fishes Buffalo ten times more than he fishes Pulaski. According to the DNR, there are great numbers of walleyes in there, but I'll leave those for someone else.

Pulaski has always been known to be a tough lake to fish. Fortunately for me my father knows the lake very well. His family had a cabin on Pulaski for 30 years, so I was able to pick his mind for some info. I like you thought the lake lacked structure at first. But after doing some scouting it turns out to have a ton of structure. In fact it has so much structure that its actually detremental to fishing.
