Memorial day weekend catch
Headed over to WI this weekend with Puzzler. Uncle Smash was trying to join us but since he had a Muskie tourney this weekend he had to put some time in at home.
Saturday was a great day of fishing and of course we would not have the camera in the boat. We first started for Walleyes in the morning. The walleye fishing changed into crappie action. My first cast I did catch a 16 inch eye first out of a boat in 12 -15 years. I have not been fishing too much open water mainly ice fish. So we thought we had a good start. We did not get another eye. Crappies moved in and we put 4 of them in the boat and through back few more.
So we head back to the river for smallies for the rest of the day. They were on fire. What made this trip was being able to have Puzzlers jet boat on the river to go back up without having to float in a canoe since the water level was just at the max we could use it. We ended the day catching 41 Smallies and I think we could of boated around 60 if we did not get pushed off the river for 2hrs. Thunderstorm and rain hit so we took a lunch break and dry clothes on.
We caught a few 18's and a bunch of 17;s. Had at least 2 or 3 pushing 18.5 inches. A lot of fish in the 16 range.
Sunday we do the same routine and go back to the crappie , Eye spot. We got there earlier this time. Thought we would get a few more crappies. This time we caught 7 eyes and kept 3 and only two crappies. Puzzler did lose a slab at the boat that could of been 12 or bigger.
Now head back to the river for smallies thinking we would smash. Now we have the camera on the boat and we only caught 21 smallies , 3 pike and one rock bass that was lost. I did end up with my best smallie. 19 incher

Puzzler with his slab

Monday morning we get up and clean the cabin and Puzzler wants to put a couple hours on the Muskie spot. We head over and out fishing by 9:00. Puzzler gives me an extra Muskie setup and we are casting. I was just doing it to pass the time. 10 cast into it I hit this 29inch ski

I felt bad Puzzler wanted to fish for them and I didn't care if I caught one or not. The trip was great and the weather held up for most of it but 2hrs. Can't wait to get back out for them Smallies just a blast to catch those fish.

Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh heh - and, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour.
Da-uh? Space out?
Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work
Our first event is a week away on June 1st on Big Marine Lake (near Forest Lake). There is still time to register for the league if you are interested. No late fees will be assessed. Send in or...
