PMTT Cave Run 2011
Well....we fished the 1st leg of the PMTT torunament held in Cave Run Kentucky. UncleSmash and I were faced with water levels 16 feet above normal pool....Chocolate milk looking water in our normal fishing locations....so we made the adjustments for fish location and lure presentation that, as it turned out, matched well with the leader board results...but we failed to land a legal muskie
...we were around them...but not on them....watched a few get boated....
The biggest fish of the event was a 49" caught on Day 2 by the winner of the tournament, Steve Jensen & Mike Keyes (of Keyes Outdoors). So congradulations to a good guy, Steve is top notch and deserving of the victory.
Water was 55-58 degrees for the most part. Rattle baits and rubber tailed gliders seemed to be the prominant lure choices. Casting was most popular presentation style, although I do believe a troller took Second.
It was fun, interesting, and as always we learned alot...now focus needs to be on Eagle River in June....wish us luck!

The water level was pretty unreal... and it continued to rise a foot or two each day.Below are some pics of the conditions we faced.
Here are some of the boats beginning to stage up for the start and another rain storm coming in.cavestart_065329.jpg

I wish I could have gotten a picture when we were deep in the forest on tournament day. We had the ranger very deep into the woods a couple of times. I think MH met up with a couple of his loggers chopping wood back there
Learned a lot, had some good laughs, still a bit heart broke about not getting a legal but bring on Eagle River!!Pro Staff - Dream Catcher Lures www.dreamcatcherlures.com

Bowfishermen, check out this link about a carp tournament on Prior, Spring, and Fish Lakes in Scott County on Sunday June 2nd. I like the part about them disposing of the fish for us. That's the...
