    UPL Chisago

Well, we lucked out again. My buddy and I ended up with 7lbs for 8 crappies and 7 sunfish which equalled a first place finish. A couple of the sunfish were bruisers with one being over 9 inches long. Our biggest crappie went 11 inches long. Not bad for the Chisago chain of lakes. We started out fishing in 5-10 feet of water catching a bunch of gills, but the crappies weren't hitting the top side of the ice as fast as I would of liked which was a little nerve racking since the sunfish were not as difficult to catch. We kept fishing the area till around 12:30 weeding through dozens of small to good sized sunfish. We finally caught our 8 good sized crappies, so on to the next spot. While prefishing we found several areas that we could upgrade on sunfish or crappies, but looking at the bucket of fish it was clear we needed to upgrade crappies more so we punched some holes in another fishy area in 5-8 feet of water. Jigging a red fiska with a waxie produced some upgrades for me. Most of the crappies were not coming off the bottom so jigging higher up in the water column was a must. The weather turned out great saturday afternoon along with the fishing. The last event is on East Rush Lake on March 5th. For pictures and full results check out ultimatepanfishleague.com.

Congrats Patrick on the back to back wins. Good luck on Rush.
Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh heh - and, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour.

    Da-uh? Space out?

Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work
