Report from Chapman's last night was 5-9 inches of ice up to 1.5 miles out of Isle Bay. I just checked out their webcam and the guys are out there today!http://www.millelacsresort.com/ib.jpg

Hopefully all the snow stays south and it can continue to make ice. Would be nice to be out by the first of the year in the sleeper.

It looks like the snow is going south of Mille. Thats good. I can't remember the last time my house was not pulled out before Christmas. Going back to 2002 I think I have had it towed out on or about the 22nd of Dec. every year and I'm on the north end. Barnacles usually starts plowing roads and checking ice thickness around the 12th of Dec. Could be a few days earlier this year.

Hey Everyone! Yep, it's me Amber with your weekly Barnacles report! For all of you wondering if we got the crazy amount of snow everyone did in the cities...I am ecstatic to report no we didn't! We got cold temps and a light dusting...for once Mother nature is working with us The ice looks great! It is about 10" of ice out in front and about 10-12" out on the east flats! The rock pile has a good 7.5" consistently over it! It is looking real good for this weekend! If everything goes smooth we could be pulling shacks by Wednesday! Hip hip hooray!!! Jimmy Jr. has been fishing daily and catching a good 3-4 walleye every time! Let's Rally people...Come up, get those shacks ready! It's almost go time!

It is official. Some resorts are pulling houses out. Many are in the process of plowing roads. There will be rentals on the ice this weekend. Some resorts are allowing small vehicle traffic. Guys with 3/4 ton or larger bring your sled or ATV. Here is a pic of a pretty good sized house Mac's pulled out yesterday.
