My sons biggest fish.
My Brother in law and I took my son to Superior last weekend. It was the first time we had been out on Superior. I have fished Michigan several times and was looking forward to fishing closer to our place in Wisconsin. We had over twenty hits on our down riggers, but manage to only boat 4 fish. Two Lakers, one Coho and one Steelhead. I have never had so many trips on my riggers and not hook em?
My son Logan has been bitten by the fishing bug and is kinda driving my crazy! When we go up north all he wants to do is fish. Whether his friends want to go or not. He will fish for hours off the dock by himself. I know this is a great thing, but sometime I would not mind sleeping in 0600 hrs on the weekend.
On this day on Superior I woke him at 0500 hrs and he was dressed in the truck by 0510. The lake was flat and perfect. We let him reel in every hit or fish we got. This picture of his Steelhead was the last fish of the day and it was a 27". He was trying to get this fish in for a while and got tired and asked me to give him a hand. I told him this is your biggest fish and you can get her in. He did and you could hear him a mile away.
Last year he 8 was and liked fishing. This year 9 and loves fishing. I have no idea what to expect at 10.
Sorry for the long winded story, as you can tell I'm pretty proud of him.

Congrats to him on the fish! Certainly sounds like he has the fishing bug!

In today's world I think your "problem" is a good one to have. I remember as a kid at the cabin I would wake up with dad at 6AM to get done with my chores (lawn mowing) and then I would gas up the tractor hook up the trailer and head down to the old bridge or beaver dam.

that is great, nothing better than the fishing bug! Fishing is a great sport that he will enjoy for a long time I'm sure and keep him out of trouble!

Bowfishermen, check out this link about a carp tournament on Prior, Spring, and Fish Lakes in Scott County on Sunday June 2nd. I like the part about them disposing of the fish for us. That's the...
