    Mille Lacs quick report

Got out Friday with Dutch and had a good time. We fished his house in the afternoon catching perch and tulibes fishing the west side of the lake. Around dinner time he took me down to meet my wife and kids at Brandts.(Thanks for the ride Dutch) We ended up missing prime time due to cell phone technical difficulties on my wifes part. So we hit the water around 8:30pm heading out about 4.5 miles to the shack. Dropped some lines down and marked a few fish in 29' of water but no takers. 11:45 rattle reel. Let it go for a minute. Bobber just sitting in the hole about 4" down. Decided to take it since everyone else was sleeping. As soon as I pulled i knew I shouldn't have. Pulled it right out of its mouth and minnow gone. 12:15 rattle reelSame thing. Pulled bobber down about 4". This time I gave it a little more time. Maybe 2-3 minutes. Gave it a pull and a nice 13.5'-14" eater.
Had a couple more during the night where it clicked off a couple but never took it. Marked a couple fish around 6:30am but to takers jigging a Rattl'n Flyer. Packed up and headed for home. Fun time with the kids in the fish house but tough to keep them interested on a slow bite. My son Aiden(5) had the best time checking tipups through the windows with his new flashlight.

I was hoping for some pout. It has been an odd year. We have caught quite a few walleye and zero pout.

Similar results for me this weekend as well. Got one 16" eye at 11am Saturday and that was about it. Seems like you found a spot with potential over there Mike. Good Luck!
