12/20 report
A buddy and I fished a farm pond southwest of Indianola, IA this weekend. I was a little surprised to find 8-10" of good, clear ice but the pond is only around 12-15 acres. We had snow falling Sunday morning and the crappies seemed to enjoy it. After the snow stopped it was only gills and a few bass. Punched a few holes and moved around the basin of the pond(16-18FOW). When the snow was falling the fish were anywhere from 4' under the ice down to the bottom. Once the snow stopped the fish were almost glued to the bottom and we had to down-size to get results. We had another spike in action around 5 before it got dark but only gills.
Started with a pink/white Lindy Frostee with a couple red spikes and ended up down-sizing to a small, pink JRs jig and red spikes. Buddy caught a few gills and bass on a small silver Kastmaster but the crappies only went for the pink/white.

Not everyone gets to be an astronaut when they grow up.

Sounds like a pretty good outing. Gotta love being on a body of water that you know you can cover in a day to find em.
Thanks for the report!"Its amazing what can be accomplished when it doesn't matter who gets the credit"

Was hoping you would be holding up a bullhead or kitty cat not no stinkin bass!
Good that you got out and caught some fish.
