Heading to Chequamegon Bay for smallies
Does anyone have any 1st hand knowledge of what to use for those bronzebacks in
Chequamegon Bay out of Ashland?
I'm heading there in 2 weekends and just thought to ask to see what you guys have expierenced as good baits or colors.

Never been there but a bait that I found that the smallies tend to like is the x-rap. It was a good bait to cover some water with..
It really depends on what style of fishing you will be doing..Mike Debner

appearantly it's an area 3 football fields wide and a mile long that is solid boulders 17 fow.
So far I've decided to run #16 raps in perch and craw color, lindy rig 6" suckers and toss some 6" sassy shad on 3/8th oz jig heads.
I'll have a couple meg cards and a fist full of batteries for shooting vids and pics.

Good luck out there. Looking forward to the report. I really need to make it out there some time.
I hear of quite a few guys using sucker minnows out there.

Like Magic said suckers or red tails! I know guys who take gallons of suckers out there in the fall.

Shut up and fish!

As much as I profess plastics and artificials ,I am going to have a good supply of suckers for sure.
No sense in going all that way and not having what they want to feed on.
