    Lake Marion

I assume we are using the access in casperson park?? Or is there another one? It looks to be a large access.

That is the only access. Steve are we going to do the weigh like we did a couple of years ago and beach at the park? Would like to keep the boat in the water pumping into the livewell to keep the fish fresh with temps in the 80's.

Yes, we'll launch at the park and weigh-in along the point just south of the launch where we did two years ago.

    Partner Needed

If anyone is interested in fishing Marion this Saturday, I've got an open seat which I've been unsuccessful in filling. Send me a PM if you are interested in subbing. 6 to 12 tomorrow AM.

    Marion Results

It was a tough bite for everyone this Saturday. None of the teams managed to catch a limit of bass and only one northern was taken. This was a far cry from the event at Pleasant 3 weeks ago. Congratulations to Travis and Matt from Team "Bobber Down" for their win and to Rob and Terry from "Team Berkley" for their second place finish.

Congrats to Bobber Down finding 3 quality fish. We were pretty frustrated catching 2 fish, we did have 2 other pike follow a spinnerbait and crank all the way to the boat and were unable to coax them into biting. Looking forward to Pelican.

We hit one keeper bass and another that no matter how much we tried to strech wouldn't make slot..tough fishing.

Pelican lists only panfish and bass, no northerns or walleyes???

Al...who thinks rod selection will be easier anyway..

Pelican has a lot of nice pike, we have caught them up to around 8 lbs.

Thanks Dan, it being listed as only 9 foot deep I figured there would be some winter kill maybe.
Never fished it, so I'm just guessing

ps...just got a PM from someone who fished it before, and has caught some nice fish, both bass and northerns... appears there's another reason I'm not a pro...

This may be a strange question but how can you get points when your disqualified?
I'm just curious, Is there something I'm missing, I looked at the rules and it said if your disqalified you don't get any points.

    • Late to weigh-in:
    o 0-2 minutes = no penalty assessed
    o >2-5 minutes = 0.5 lb
    o >5-7 minutes = 1.0 lb
    o >7-10 minutes = 2.0 lb
    o >10 minutes = disqualification (0 points)

I think your right its the way I see it to.

yea that was direct from the DNR... it is due for a winterkill according to them but hasn't had one in quite awhile.. I got a 6 lb. 4 oz. bass and a number over 5 last year. Hog got one that was 6 lb. 5 oz. I've seen a lot of pike in that 4-10 lb. range although they may not be quite as easy as the bass... wish I could fish this one!!!

how many minutes was he late? that is the way it looks here over 10 minutes, but anyone that shows up and fishes should get more points than those that don't show up. should being the key word here. we may need to change that one for next year...

I think he told me 12:09 after the event, just want to confirm. if that is the case, it isn't a DQ.
