how does the water spike work in a real rocky area?

They work very well, but like the others, you need to go upstream (or whatever) in the oposite direction of the hold with a loose rope and allow the ring to slide backwards. It should pull right out. I have been with a buddy on the river that diddnt do this and ended up having to tie it onto a cleat and use the motor to pull it free. Bent it up a little, but nothing a hammer couldnt fix

I agree with Mr. Herman, I love my water spike it holds great and is light and stores very easy!

I have a 12 lb. Digger Anchor and have been happy with it. I don't anchor a ton, but seems to hold well in most conditions.

I am sure all the anchors listed above are good anchors.. I personally have a water spike and I have a big heavy boat and fish big waters in big waves and I am 100% confident the water spike will hold me. I use to have a digger anchor, it did ok...

I made a quick 1 day trip down to Fillmore County to do a little fly fishing. Due to all the rain we've been having most of the streams were high and muddy so I spent half of the day driving around...
