Minnetonka Report 3/11/07
I fished Minnetonka for about 2 1/2 hours tonight, from about 7:00 - 9:30. Caught about a dozen crappies. Tough bite, fish were definitely finicky. I did best on a 1/80 oz glo jig with a Loby Micro-Flie. Tried some larger baits that were totally ignored. Caught 2 fish @ 10", most were about 8". Fished 2 holes, one at 30 FOW and one about 18 FOW. Caught both larger fish in the 30 foot hole. There were very few people out, and lots of water on top of the ice.
While I was driving to the lake I saw the Hennepin Cty Sheriff race by, lights flashing, with their inflatable boat in tow. Heading west on Hwy 15 towards Mound. Hope no one went through the ice. Was plenty thick where I was, but I walked out anyhow.
