Hot Spot for Walleye Opener Next Weekend

So where is the hot walleye bite for next weekend guys? Sounds like a lot of guys heading up to Winnie - that always seems to be good this time of year.. Mille Lacs is a good close trip. Wright County area has some great walleye lakes... hmmmm... too many choices in MN..

What about the Metro, who is staying and fishing the Metro this opener?

Looks like I'll be fishing a Wright County lake for the opener. Then be up on Winnie later during the week. Have yet to decide on the lake yet. Way to many good lakes to choose from.

I'll be staying close to home. I'm also hitting the St. Louis River for the opener.
    Take care,

I'm staying close to home too. Right out the back door. I saw 3 big beautuful walleyes on the camera this afternoon in 18 feet of water.(50 degrees) This could be an interesting opener.

I'll be fishing somewhere in Chisago.Won't be getting to serious about catching those eyes. With the crappies so easy to catch we'll probably end up fishing for those most of the day.

I'll have to side with Cheffrey and BD110 (sorry I changed the handle guys) with the St. Louis River. If you can put up with the other anglers on the river you will be rewarded with constant action. There's a "great" number of fish as well as ample opportunity to catch a real monster. If anyone reads this and does decide to fish the St. Louis there is a two fish limit with 15 inch minimum size restriction. It's not a trip to fill the freezer, it's a trip to catch walleyes. Lots of walleyes.

    Matt,
I just left you a post in another thread before I saw this one. I hope your trip went well the other day. Remember if you do not hear from me on Saturday make sure you give me a call on my cell. I'm sure we will be down at my camper on Friday night if you want to stop by.

    Cheffrey,
Are you planning on stopping by on Friday night?

    Take care,
    Tom (BD110)

    Hey Matt.

BD I will be setting up camp on either Thursday or Friday and putting my boat up at the river, I am gonna get a adjoining site to yours so I don't have to hassle with ramps all weekend.

Toms, I'll definately be in touch at some point this weekend. It's gonna be a long weekend with my birthday and all the activities that will ensure, but I'm still gonna be doing some serious fishing. If you guys are going to be around friday too I might have to swing over.

Heading to Mille Lacs as I do every opener and all weekends after. Try to stay out of the big crowds and hope to do well. Gonna be a lot of small fish this year, but will be good action. I don't expect to fill the freezer either, but I know we will get some eaters. New graph/gps, couple new rods and trying once again to teach my brothers how to live bait rig in rocks..... need lots of hooks. Have a good opener.
