Anything related to Bass including reports

  1. Swimbaits

I wanted to get a little conversation going since this board has been dead. What do you all think of some of the swimbaits that you have tried? I seen some reports where swimbaits seemed to be the goto bait, but considering the hype following these baits I haven't seen much about them up here....

  3. BASS Top 100 Bass Lakes

It's nice to see that Minnesota lakes rate very highly on the national BASS scene. I'm not sure Tonka deserves to be at #7 anymore but it did 10 to 15 years ago. http://www.bassmaster.com/top-100-bass-lakes

  4. TX Bass - Falcon Lake & Lake Fork March 17 - 22

We escaped MN just in time to miss the snow coming in again and made our way down to Falcon Lake in SW TX on the Mexico border. Andy and I left on Saturday night and drove through the night to the Dallas area where we took a detour over to Lake Fork to stop and fish for a few hours. We found...

  6. Hey Dan / Brett

I remembered you guys took a trip either last year or the year before down to Lake Fork. How was the trip? How was the Lake? Is it pretty intimidating? I'm trying to convince myself that I want to take the trip there next week to hit up the lake. Cant tow my boat because I need to replace the...

  8. Pelican lake

So what is the latest scoop with this lake? There use to be a a wright county lakes forum that had the latest buzz with this lake. Draining it? not draining it? transporting fish? filled with foil worthless? still kicking out good ones. Love to hear what anybody knows for the future of this Gem.

  9. The season ain't over yet....

The cool nights and sunny days have got the Bass active in the shallows. Hit a north metro lake last weekend for a friendly tourny with a few buds on a lake one of them lived on. I wasn't expecting much, as the DNR information on the lake painted a pretty dismal picture. Was shocked to catch...

  10. A fine ending to our finest open water season ever.

We concluded our 2012 open water season yesterday on Cedar lake near Annandale. It was our finest season ever in our six years of serious angling. We are grateful to be living in our idea of vacationland. We are excited to be a new owner of a 2000 Lund Rebel with an Evinrude 40hp four stroke...

My son and I had a great morning on Cedar lake this morning. 8 bass, one pike, in just a couple of hours. Morning bite.

  12. Fishing with Iowa

It was that time of year where I sucker IACrankbait into delivering me some TQmeats skinless brats, by disguising it as a fishing trip. When I placed my brat order, water temps were great, the river flow was dropping and fishing was about to peak out. By the time he showed up with the goods,...

  13. Cold front bass

Despite the cooler temps and wind today, we still managed three respectable bass and one pike today. I love largemouth bass and take every measure to insure they live to see another day!

  15. Pelican Lake 8/11/12

I spent about half a day on Pelican and the fishing was great. I haven't had this much action in a few years out there. Lots of nice chunky bass from 2 to just under 5 pounds. The average fish seems to be about 3 pounds and they are still near stumps or rock in less than 5 feet of water. I ended...

  16. Bass lover

I feel very fortunate to have caught three bass this size in the last two days. This one was caught in Lake Louisa (Clearwater river) wacky worming in two feet of water. This is my first season seriously fishing for largemouth bass, I really enjoy it! They are special to me, plus you can catch...

  17. Lastnight's Waverly lake tournament

I was very disappointed by what I saw on Waverly lake lastnight. Apparently a "West Metro Fishing Leaugue" conducted a tournament on Waverly Lake yesterday afternoon. I saw some poor etiquette on the part of the fisherman, but what really irratated me was their shoddy weigh-in at the end. I've...

  18. 7/19 Pelican Lake Report

I got out and fished Pelican last night for a few hours. The water level is almost perfect right now, most of the good wood is in least 3ft of water. Also, the pond weed has died off and there isn't much milfoil this year. It's actually easy to throw cranks this year! I only had a couple of...

  19. My personal best.

I just wanted to share with everyone that I caught and released my biggest largemouth as of today! I was on Lake Sarah jigging a plastic worm over rocks this morning and nabbed a 21" bass! No exaggerating, she did 21". This is my first year seriously chasing bass, and so I'm stoked. My friend...

  20. E&W Sylvia Tournament Report

I fished a Twin Cities Fishers of Men Fishing Club Bass Tournament on East & West Sylvia with Michael Thompson. I found out at the landing tournament morning that Mike didn't pay his club dues for the year, so he was ineligible to compete for the $ and points. It was OK because it was an...

  21. Lake Sarah

I caught my first white crappie ( 11") this morning along with five nice sized bass on Lake Sarah. All released. I love this lake but there were some very rude people at the launch when I was getting off. They couldn't wait their turn and two people's outboards didn't start.

  23. Waverly Lake Bass

Yesterday I took my son, Wyatt, out for some crappie fishing on our home lake of Waverly. We've had our best luck with flu-flu's tipped with waxies. He hooked this nice bass in the bay near the pier. I'm sure I have a future tournament fisherman on my hands!

  24. 10/12 Small Lake Smallies

I was able to get out tonight for short time before sunset on a small lake which I won't name. The water temp was still 61° so I thought I'd throw a KVD 1.5 crank in orange/brown on shallow flats to see if any bass would be active. It didn't take long and I had a good hit. The fish went airborn...

  27. my best of 2011

I made it out early on Thursday morning to a west metro lake and managed this 20 1/2" on a Ribbit topwater frog. I only caught 3 on the frog and a couple pike but I was excited to get one over 20 this year

  30. 9/19/11 Lake Pulaski Report

Fished Pulaski from 12-6:30pm. Spent most of my time throwing cranks over weeds on the north and west side with success. Caught a couple dozen Bass, most in the 2-3lbs range. Also caught around a dozen Pike, most were hammerhandles. I moved out deeper and fished for Walleye's later in the day. I...
