Marion put out some great bags, despite the tough prefishing conditions for a lot of teams. This lake set an MFL record with 162.65 lbs. of fish for 12 teams (this also set a per-team record with an avg. of 13.55 lbs.). Previously Minnetonka held the record with 134.50 lbs. of fish and a per angler average of 13.45 lbs. Congrats to all for some really nice fish! Big fish was verified on the water - 30.25" pike that went to team Brent/Chris (bottom photo). The final event is August 20th on Waconia.

What a great bass lake. Not having ever fished it before last week I was pretty unsure of this lake. It put out some really nice bags of fish. Congrats to Dan/Steve for taking home the win. Sets up a interesting final event at Waconia where big bass are plentiful.

I still can't believe how good Marion turned out! Good choice Dan! All I can keep thinking is "slow and low" thats what it took to catch those piggy Bass for the most part. It's a different way of fishing for Bass for me, I'll be making some adjustments. :D Brian and I landed all eight of our fish on crank baits! of course we missed two 4 lb bass at the boat on Gulp worms! arghhhh. It was a good time!

I am with you Buzz, I didn't think the bags would be that big either. Congradulations to the big bags. Lance and I caught bass on just about everything senkos, spinnerbaits, cranks. Lance broke off on two bass that were for sure 4lbs on could have been 5lbs. We just had a problem getting the pike to go. We finally caught one 10 mins before weigh in and it was 19in. ugh. But all in all it was a fun day fishing
Besides the head splitting gut turning hangover that set in a couple hours into the tourny. See everybody on Waconia.

I agree that Marion turned out to be a good choice for our 3rd tournament. It's close to the cities and the facilities were excellent. In spite of a ton of heavy fishing pressure, the MFL anglers were able to bring in some nice bags of fish. Special thanks to Nate and Joe for showing us all a thing or two about catching big bass. The weather even co-operated for us. When the rain came through about 11 AM, I was envisioning another wet weigh-in like Minnetonka, but it blew right on through. Waconia will be an interesting conclusion to the season. We'll see you all out there pre-fishing soon.

After prefishing I was to big on fishing this lake, but it turned out to hold some decent fish.Hopefully Waconia will break the record for total weight ;) It seems to me that the teams are getting better catching quality fish. I think that each event in the future we will be seeing more weight and hopefully a Walleye or two.

I have to echo the sentiments. The front pushing though made things interesting and probably helped the overall bite. Congratulations to Dan and Steve! See yah on Waconia.
