DId anyone make it out for the Stream Trout opener this weekend?? I'm planning on taking my boys out on Monday to a small DNR stocked lake for some Rainbows.

I had an invite to go with a co-worker this weekend but declined it for a Mille Lacs outing. He was going to a lake around East Central. I'll try to talk to him on Monday and see how he did. Good Luck :)

Heyo!

Does the trout stamp I payed for at the begining of the season cover me for this season's stream trout?

Thanks!

It covers you until Feb 28th.

The friend that I referred to in the earlier post caught 5 saturday and 4 sunday all in about 5 ft of water. He said he could see them come into his hole and it was like watching TV.

We got out for a little while on Tuesday and between my son and I we caught 8 on a small east central stocked lake. We had our luck in 14 FOW but the fish were suspended everywhere. Waxies and Powerbait Trout Formula worms gave us the best action on a small plain hook.

I made it back out to the same lake today and it was totally dead!! Picked up several small sunnies but never even saw a trout on the camara! I drilled 8 holes all over the lake in depths from 6' to 35' and never saw even one trout on the screen. Did see and picked up alot of garbage and cig butts on the lake:mad: !! Including about a dozen minnows that sure looked like they were alive when they were dumped out!! (this lake is a designated trout lake so live minnows are illegal)
